qPCR Experience Real-Time PCR in Plant Pathology: Diagnostics and Research, Ljubljana, Slovenia, 29.11.-2.12. 2011
WORKSHOP WAS CONCLUDED SUCCESSFULLY AND WAS FULLY BOOKED!
This 4-day workshop covered real-time PCR in diagnostics and research in the field of plant pathology.
The workshop was organized by BioSistemika in collaboration with National Institute of Biology and COST Action 873.
Instructors with years of experience in development and use of real-time PCR provided theoretical background and comprehensive hands-on training in setting-up experiments, sample processing, data analysis, quality control and validation of methods under ISO standards. Potentials of real-time PCR were showcased through examples on detection, quantification and gene expression

Plant pathology specialists from National Institute of Biology also helped to lead extensive practical laboratory part that included plant sample preparation, nucleic acid extraction and real-time PCR reaction set-up as well as results discussion and interpretation.

qPCR instructors: Dr. Tanja Dreo*, Uni. Prof. Dr. Maja Ravnikar*, Dr. Urška Čepin, Dr. Špela Baebler, Mag. Nataša Mehle*, Dr. Manca Pirc*
* Plant pathology specialists from the Department of Biotechnology and Systems Biology at National Institute of Biology.
Guest lecturer: Dr. Neil Boonham, the team leader at Fera (The Food and Environment Research Agency, York, United Kingdom) and world known specialist for development of new molecular tools (qPCR, microarrays, LAMP, new generation sequencing) in microbiology. He will share his knowledge and experience in his lecture about new approaches to plant pathogens diagnostics.
What was the feedback of the participants:

Would workshop participants recommend such workshop to their colleagues:

We are looking forward to seeing you on one of our next workshops!
